SATO Strengthens Operations in Germany Through New Subsidiary

Singapore, April 1, 2011 – SATO, an international leader in the Automatic Identification and Data Collection (AIDC) industry has launched a new sales subsidiary in Germany, based in Raunheim, near Frankfurt am Main.

The newly founded SATO GERMANY GmbH (SGG) will focus on sales and technical customer support, and will work in close co-operation with SATO’s production division, SATO Labelling Solutions Europe GmbH, based at Hirschhorn in Heidelberg.  In the future both divisions will operate independently, focussing on sales and production respectively. SATO envisages that this organisation will streamline its business operations in Germany, leading to a direct improvement in customer service and support.

Explaining the decision to establish SGG in the context of SATO’s global restructuring and expansion strategy Managing Director of SATO International Europe, Brian Lang said,: “SATO is confident the creation of SGG will strengthen SATO’s presence in Germany, leading to a growth in business operations and an increased level of competitiveness and customer satisfaction throughout the whole of Europe”.

As part of SATO’s organisational restructuring, the head office of SGG will be in Raunheim. The new subsidiary at Raunheim will incorporate SATO’s industry leading service, repair and maintenance services. This includes the technical hotline which can answer questions from business partners and end users about any aspects of the printers or their consumables. Also working from the new facility are the business partner account managers. It is from here that the account managers co-ordinate the service and repair work of SATO’s in-the-field technicians. Unlike other companies SATO’s technicians work directly for the company and therefore are specialists regarding its products.

Exciting new products which have been recently launched by SATO include, for the retail sector, the TH2 label printer that is especially suited to price markdown applications and for use in quick service restaurants, and suitable for on-demand and low volume printing within the retail sector, DIY stores, offices and small warehouses, is the CG4 label printer.
